Born in 1938, in Granby, Quebec Robert Simpson now lives in Montreal.
Self-taught, Robert Simpson has dedicated his time entirely to painting since 1974. Coming from a family of artists, Robert Simpson realized at a very young age that he had inherited the gift for painting and drawing.
Today he is known as the painter whose techniques are original. After a lot of experimentation, he has come to a nice combination of colours and textures. His wild landscapes, as his city scenes, characterize themselves by the importance the artist gives to different colour nuances. These contrasts and nuances express themselves through Simpson’ s «magic touch».
