Born into a family of artists, Barak Rozenvain was immersed in a creative environment from a very early age. He observed his parents working and spent numerous hours with them in their studio every day, and this experience strongly influenced him. Throughout his youth, he accompanied his parents to shows throughout Europe and North America, making the most of opportunities to visit museums and places of culture along the way. Barak was always drawn towards the Pop Art icons and abstract masters of the 20th century. Andy Warhol, Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko are a major source of inspiration for his work.
Inspired by the immense natural beauty of his home in Whistler, B.-C., Canada, this young artist recreates his favourite mountain and ski scenes. Abstract impressionism meets the bold Canadian landscape with a playful dash of Pop Art added in for good measure. His work is powerful, sculptural and full of life.
