Racine, Éric

Technique : Stainless steel

Eric has always been passionate about art. He learned a variety of artistic techniques at an early age. Although he drew many landscapes, he mostly enjoyed depicting his favourite comic book characters.

From 1994 to 1996, Eric studied Fine Arts at the Ste-Foy CEGEP, and was very interested in sculpting and the materials used in this art form. Plaster, concrete, wood, and metal were omnipresent in his creations. In 1995, Eric won first prize in the sculpture category during a contest open to all artists attending CEGEPs across Quebec.

Eric subsequently studied mechanical engineering and currently works in a sheet metal factory as a draftsman, designer, laser-cutting programmer and plant manager. He uses his varied skill set to create his own sculptures. From drawing to design, he cuts, bends, welds and polishes his metal.

His thought-provoking sculptures evolve over time, stimulating the imagination.
