Technique : Oil

Born in Trois-Rivières in 1956, Raymond Quenneville now resides in Champlain, Mauricie.
His remarkable artistic career ranges from caricature portraits and comics, to interpretive nature boards and scientific illustration. He has explored various mediums such as watercolor, ink, gouache and wax pencil. Since 1992, he has devoted himself entirely to painting landscapes in oil, through which he tries to express a certain serenity and balance. In each of his paintings there is a unique sweetness, an exemplary luminosity and refinement that brings the observer into a welcoming, soothing universe. Over the years, he has developed a quite remarkable and distinguished style.
He writes: "I play with the juxtaposition of complementary colors to accentuate bold contrasts and create luminous effects. By seeking subtle variations in chromatic values, I try to highlight the fine consistency of the air, giving a sense of depth that the eye cannot dispute."
Raymond Quenneville has won numerous awards in national and international contests, including first place in the Plein Air and Studio Landscapes category at the 5th Annual Plein Air Salon Competition in California in 2014, first place in the Landscape Impressionism category at the American Art Awards in 2012, second place at the Richeson75 Landscape, Seascape & Architectural Competition in Wisconsin in 2010, and third place at the 27th Annual Artist's Magazine Art Competition in 2010. Articles about his paintings have been published in numerous journals and books on contemporary art. His paintings have even made the cover of several international magazines including International Artists in Australia, Hidden Treasure Magazine in the United Kingdom, and Best of Worldwide Landscape Artists, digital version, in the United States.
Over the past 22 years, his paintings have been exhibited at 21 symposiums, 6 solo exhibitions and over 30 group exhibitions held throughout 6 Canadian provinces, Europe and the United States. His paintings are sold throughout the world through renowned art galleries in Canada and the United States.
He is a member of the Institute of Fine Arts (IAF) and the Canadian Artists' Society (SCA), the Mondial Art Academia (MAA), and holds the Master of Fine Arts award from the International Academy of Fine Arts Arts of Quebec (AIBAQ).
