Gian Pablo Polito, sculptor

Gian Pablo Polito was born in 1971 in Caracas, Venezuela. He currently lives and works in Florida.

A versatile artist, Polito practices sculpture, painting and graphic design. He worked for many years as a graphic designer in the field of advertising, which certainly influenced his sculptural work. His artistic research and inspiration draw from American Pop Art, and primarily, he presents everyday objects in a playful way. The artist favors resin, a material that gives a smooth and uniform finish to his pieces and recalls the industrial properties of the objects. His forms are clean, stylized, and often monochrome, and the themes he addresses relate to childhood, joy and fun. His brightly colored sculptures are often embellished with a glossy varnish that makes them even more appealing.

"I seek the intimate part of the human being, those memories of childhood that we never forget. The joys, toys and flavors that we cherish for the rest of our lives,” he explains.

Polito has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Venezuela and the United States. He also participated in the Art Expo in New York and at the 10th International Biennale of Contemporary Art in Florence.
