Marcoux, Andrée

Technique : Mixed media

Painting, bronze sculptures, cement and steel, Indian ink, charcoal, scratchboard… several mediums interest the artist; she is always looking for a new challenge. Based in Estrie, Quebec, Andrée Marcoux has been a professional artist for several years now. As a graduate of Laval University in Quebec in the visual arts, she always seeks to develop her work, her passion.

Her inspiration is usually animals: “The welfare of animals is very important to me. I want to raise public awareness through a pose, a look, to make the viewer love them in order to better respect them. This is my way of paying homage to these sensitive, essential beings who have so much to teach us. “

Andrée Marcoux first painted landscapes, and then devoted herself to animal painting, which has become her specialty over time. She does not seek to capture the perfection of the subject by the detail, but more the emotion. As much as her paintings can be realistic and worked on for weeks, she likes to let herself go in the movement on medium or large-scale formats. Her art balances between classical and whimsical painting.
