Laurent, Sébastien

Passionate about history, recycling, sculpture and welding, Sébastien Laurent is a Quebec artist born in 1976 in France. Since childhood, he modifies and embellishes objects from his daily life. He gives them a second life by distorting them, transforming them, and welding them together.

Artistic Approach

"This journey began with a passion for bicycles, and a desire to change their appearance and make them functional. I began to do the same with cars a few years later. When my wife and I bought our home, I started making ironwork such as gates, fences and plant stands. Our family grew, and naturally I designed all kinds of toys for my children. I even built a wooden cabin in the garden that piqued the interest of our neighbors.

For a long time, creative passion has been part of our family life and my wife, with her incredible patience, supports me in this adventure. We have a great time creating together, and often, when a lot of couples might be watching TV together, the light is always on my garage; the laboratory of my creations.

My professional career has taken me across many oceans and introduced me to great people from all walks of life who have filled my toolbox and allowed me to refine several techniques and have enriched me with their knowledge and culture."
