Gagnon, Danielle

Technique: mixed

Danielle Gagnon, painterA Montreal native, Danielle Gagnon was interested in drawing at an early age. With the encouragement of her father, himself an artist, she discovered a passion for this medium.

After college, she enrolled in commercial arts at Studio Salette in Montreal, and then continued studying fashion design at Concordia University. It was not until 1990, after working several years as a graphic designer, that Danielle Gagnon discovered a taste for painting. Inspired by impressionist painters such as Renoir and Monet, she decided to execute her talent, with the goal of becoming a professional painter. Alongside established artists, she continued her training in order to improve her technique. Danielle Gagnon, with her colour palette and impressionist style, gives her paintings an air of romance, softness, and day-dreamy quality. She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Quebec and in Ontario. Her works are part of many collections in Canada, in the United States and in Europe.
