Alexandre Delisle is a multidisciplinary artist from Repentigny, currently residing in Vaudreuil-Dorion. For almost 20 years now, he has been passionate about art. His passion began with cabinetmaking and has diversified over time through art of all kinds. Antique furniture restoration, wood carving, acrylic painting on canvas, projection mural painting, pouring, and epoxy are some of the avenues that Alexandre explored for several years before he really found his way. All of these experiences over the years, through various mediums, self-taught techniques, and facets of painting, have brought him a diversified knowledge that he uses in the making of his works.

While developing his body of work, Alexandre is also a master craftsman in interior finishing for high-end private business aircraft.

Artistic Approach

In recent years, Alexandre has started creating works defined as canvas sculptures. This modern artform shows a captivating and unique technique. Each individual piece is created and shaped in such a way as to bring together color, perspective, light, shadow, and rhythm. These dynamic pieces almost reshape themselves through the eyes of the viewer by engaging with light. Self-taught, creative at heart, extremely patient and meticulous, Alexandre pushes the boundaries of 2D canvas into 3D. He likes to play with the effects of light and shadow that 3D art allows him. He spends his free time exploring and optimizing his technique of this extraordinary new form of canvas sculpture.

His inspirations come as much from the infinitely large as from the infinitely small, from the landscapes that surround him and even from the lives of the people he meets. Every thought, look, reading and reflection have the capacity to transform into a unique and living painting. They transport us to the majestic and impressive world of sculptural canvas.
