Romero Britto, painter Born in Brazil and based in Miami, Romero Britto is an internationally renowned artist using vibrant, bold and colorful themes to reflect his optimistic view of the world. Britto has developed through his works a visual language imbued with hope and happiness, inspiring millions of people. Self-taught from a young age, Britto painted on pieces of paper, cardboard or any other support he could find. In 1983, he went to Paris where he discovered the works of Matisse and Picasso. His appreciation for these masters influenced him to create an iconic style that the New York Times described as "exuding warmth, optimism and love."

Britto's works are exhibited in galleries and museums in over 100 countries, including the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux Arts exhibition at the Carrousel du Louvre in 2008 and 2010. In 2013, Maria Elena and Carlos Slim Domit invited Romero to become the first living artist to exhibit at the Museo Soumaya. He has also created public art installations for the 02 Dome in Berlin, John F. Kennedy Airport in New York, Cirque du Soleil at Super Bowl XLI and created a monumental sculpture at Hyde Park in London. Britto was one of the official artists of the 2010 World Cup, the ambassador of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and was invited to be an honorary pallbearer for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Britto's pop sensibility has since led to numerous collaborations with international brands such as Audi, Bentley, Coca-Cola, Walt Disney, Evian, Hublot and Mattel, to name just a few.

Romero is an activist for charities around the world and, more importantly, an artist who believes "art is too important not to share." Britto has donated his time, artwork and resources to more than 250 charitable organizations. Far from being a silent activist, Britto was one of the selected arts speakers at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland. Romero Britto is proud to be one of the inaugural founding benefactors of the Harvard International Negotiation Program. He also serves on several boards, such as Best Buddies International and St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, and was recently appointed to His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales's board, The Prince's Trust. Convinced of the role that an artist can play as an instigator of positive change, Romero Britto is committed to developing and supporting the role that art will continue to play in global issues.
